Alice Denney took the family across country and stopped at galleries in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, to assemble works by prominent contemporary artists. The goal was to create and display a direct relationship between the artists at the Jefferson Place Gallery to the contemporary trends in Post War American Art, demonstrating that the work in Washington was just as good as work in New York, or on the West Coast.
